What Happened in Midtown Manhattan?

The shooting took place on July 28 inside a skyscraper located in Midtown Manhattan. This building is home to NFL offices and several financial companies, including Blackstone.

According to a law enforcement source, the gunman killed four people before dying inside the building. Early media reports suggest the suspect died by suicide.

Gunman Barricaded Himself on 32nd Floor

During the attack, the gunman reportedly barricaded himself inside the building, possibly on the 32nd floor. Police surrounded the area, and SWAT teams moved in to secure the building.

The scene was chaotic. Workers from nearby floors were evacuated. Others sheltered in place, hiding under desks and in stairwells. Cell phone footage shared on social media showed people running for cover as sirens wailed outside.
