Jakorian Bennett–Thomas Booker Trade: Who Got the Better Deal Eagles or Raide

Jakorian Bennett–Thomas Booker Trade: Who Got the Better Deal Eagles or Raide

The Eagles needed help in the secondary.
The Raiders needed more depth on the defensive line.
This trade gives both players a fresh start and a chance to earn more playing time with their new teams.

But how did each team do in this one-for-one trade?
As you might guess, one team clearly came out on top — and it wasn’t the Raiders’ GM.

Let’s break down this August NFL trade and see who won the deal.

Yes, the Eagles won this trade. No surprise there.

Somehow, they got Jakorian Bennett — a young cornerback with real potential — without giving up any draft picks.

Bennett has had some injury issues, but if he stays healthy, he could be a solid part of the Eagles’ rotation. He might even compete for a starting job next to rookie Quinyon Mitchell.

At this point, it feels like a running joke — how does Howie Roseman keep pulling this off?

All the Eagles gave up was Thomas Booker, a backup-level player for them. That’s a great deal for someone with Bennett’s upside.

But the real problem? The Raiders gave up Jakorian Bennett — a better player with starting potential — and didn’t even get a late-round draft pick in return.

That’s a rookie mistake.

Thomas Booker got some playing time with the Eagles last season, even in their deep defensive tackle group. That gives him a good chance to make the Raiders’ roster and get on the field.

He could turn out to be a solid pickup for new GM John Spytek.

The Raiders might end up regretting this trade — not because they added Booker, but because they gave away a young, promising cornerback like Bennett for so little.
