WWE RAW HITS & MISSES (8/4): Seth Rollins gloating

WWE RAW HITS & MISSES (8/4): Seth Rollins gloating about the Big Ruse, Charlotte-Alexa exchange, Rusev vs. Sheamus, Penta vs. Waller,

Opening Segment – MISS:
I don’t really get why Seth Rollins needed to fake an injury to cash in his Money in the Bank contract on C.M. Punk.

Punk was already worn out after beating Gunther in the main event at SummerSlam Saturday.

Rollins could have just run down, smashed Punk with the briefcase a few times, cashed in, hit the stomp, and won the title.

That’s how it’s usually done with MITB.

I was hoping they’d explain why the fake injury helped him more — but they didn’t.

The segment was okay, but nothing special.

The best part was Bronson Reed getting called the “Tribal Thief” — that was awesome.

L.A. Knight’s interruption made sense and helped set up the main event, so it wasn’t all bad.

Rusev vs. Sheamus – HIT:
Yes, the match ended in a draw because of a double countout, but I was okay with it.

Both men fought hard and gave us a really physical match.

Since their first two matches already had clear winners, this draw didn’t feel lazy or disappointing.

It actually made sense because of how intense their rivalry has become.

Their hatred for each other felt real, and the finish matched that energy.

I also liked

Waller vs. Penta – HIT:
This was a fun match and a good win for Penta.
He looked strong beating Grayson Waller.
Penta is still trying to join The New Day as “Big G.”

The New Day are acting very silly lately,
which doesn’t really work well for them as bad guys.
Still, I did laugh when Xavier Woods wore that huge hat.
It was even funnier when Penta played with the hat after the match.

Charlotte – Bliss – MISS:

I like the team of Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. I was okay with them winning the Tag Team Titles at SummerSlam. It’s been especially good for Charlotte.

I even laughed a bit when she said it was the first time she ever got a “You deserve it!” chant.

But this talking segment wasn’t good.

They tried too hard to be cute by avoiding the word “friends.” Instead, they joked about using the “f word,” and later, the “a word.”

It all came off as cheesy and childish.

This felt way too PG, especially just one night

Charlotte & Bliss vs. Perez & Rodriguez – HIT (Humanized Version):

Thankfully, this match was much better than the segment before it.
I really liked their match at SummerSlam, and this rematch was also fun to watch.
Both teams have great chemistry and work well together in the ring.
I wouldn’t mind seeing them face off again in the future.
But for now, it’s a good idea to let Judgment Day’s story move forward away from the titles.
They can always return to this feud later when it feels fresh again.

Rollins vs. Knight – MISS
They should’ve just let Seth Rollins beat L.A. Knight.
Rollins is the new World Champion.
Knight isn’t seen as a real title contender right now — so losing to Rollins would’ve been fine.

The match was going well before the messy finish.
I did like that Knight was mad at C.M. Punk for causing the disqualification.
That made sense and added some emotion.

Looks like we might get a triple threat match soon.

The post-match part was actually pretty good.
The Vision attacking, then Roman Reigns showing up — all worked well.
Roman getting beat down and losing his shoes to the Tribal Chief again was funny.

Good to see Bron Breakker moving okay, especially after the leg injury scare on Saturday.

The big question: Where was Jey Uso?
Maybe we’ll find out next week.
Could be that Breakker and Reed took him out before the show.

So, the ending was strong.
But I just can’t call it a “Hit” when the main event World Title match has no real winner.
